Tammy Bernard, MEd, C-IAYT, E-RYT, has been an Integrative Practitioner at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville since 2010. As a Certified Yoga Therapist and stress reduction specialist, she offers a variety of wellness programs and trainings to patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and community members.
Jackie Ferber has been a teacher at FSM since 1987. Her areas of expertise and teaching in the main program include Kinesiology, Orthopedic/Sports Massage, Advanced Upper extremity massage technique, Professional boundaries and Ethics, and Business Skills. In Kinesiology, she utilizes both clay and drawing on the body to enhance the student’s learning experience.
Jackie has combined her love of and participation in sports with her 32+ years as a practicing massage therapist. By specializing in treating injuries and chronic tension patterns in her clients, she integrates her clinical experience in the classroom. Her love of teaching and passion for understanding the bio-mechanics of movement create a multidimensional approach for her students.
After 32+ years in practice, my work is still evolving. My own unique approach to deep tissue work feels more than anything else like a blend of intuition guided by my in-depth study of the body. Kinesiology, orthopedic assessment, they are all intertwined. I look for that gentle edge of pressure that feels effective but not to the point of pain which causes tension in the body.
Jackie has been consistently integrating hot and cold stones into her private practice for the past 10 years, complementing her approach to treating soft tissue injuries. Her clients love the deeply relaxing and soothing effects of stone therapy.
Jackie is the owner of Advanced Massage Professionals; a 12 person professional group practice in Gainesville, Fl. since 1994.
